About VietGid

VietGid is a directory of businesses and independent providers in Vietnam. We are starting with Nha Trang and six categories: dental clinics, vehicle rental, airport transfers, car and motorbike repair, beauty salons, and air conditioning service.

How we handle data

Information comes from public sources: official websites, the businesses' own public pages, and open registries. A listing is published only after both the existence of the business and its contact details have been confirmed by at least two independent sources.

Every substantive fact — address, phone number, opening hours — is stored together with its source and the date it was obtained. Each listing shows when it was last checked. Contacts are re-checked monthly; addresses and opening hours every three months.

Small businesses often have almost no presence online, and tourist listing sites copy each other word for word. For those we verify by telephone and mark the listing accordingly. The same rule applies to advertisers: paying for a banner does not exempt anyone from the check.

What we do not do

We do not invent prices, services, opening hours or qualifications. We publish no reviews or ratings: we do not collect our own yet, and we have no right to copy anyone else's. We never write «the best» or «number one» — that is an opinion nobody can verify.

We publish no prices at all. Prices change, depend on the individual case and cannot be checked against a public source — and a stale number is worse than no number, because the reader plans around it and then hears something different.

When sources disagree about a fact, we remove that fact rather than pick the more plausible one. No address is more honest than a wrong address: a wrong house number sends someone across town for nothing.

Advertising

Advertising is labelled and never affects the order of the listings. Paid placement does not change the data in a listing and does not make unpaid listings any worse.

If this is your business

You can ask us to correct the information or to remove the listing entirely. We reply within three working days. Disputed data is hidden while we look into it, rather than left standing.
