About VietGid

VietGid is a directory of businesses and independent providers in Nha Trang for visitors and long-stay guests: dentists and clinics, transport and transfers, repairs, beauty salons and more.

How we handle data

Information comes from public sources — the businesses' own websites and pages, maps, directories and registries — from talking to the business, and from our own visits. A listing goes live when at least two unrelated sources wrote about the business independently, or when it has a channel of its own and we have been in touch with it, or when we have been there ourselves. The details: how we check our data.

Every substantive fact — address, phone number, opening hours — is stored together with its source and the date it was obtained. Each listing shows when it was last checked. Business websites are checked automatically about once a month; what was confirmed in conversation is re-checked about every three months.

Small businesses often have almost no presence online, and tourist listing sites copy each other word for word. For those we verify by telephone and mark the listing accordingly. The same rule applies to advertisers: paying for a banner does not exempt anyone from the check.

Sources are found and cross-checked, and texts and translations written, by AI (Claude) — only from the sources gathered. AI is never a source of fact. The project owner calls businesses and visits them in person; photos captioned “Photo by VietGid” are the owner’s own. More in how we check our data.

What we do not do

We do not invent prices, services, opening hours or qualifications. We publish no reviews or ratings: we do not collect our own yet, and we have no right to copy anyone else's. We never write «the best» or «number one» — that is an opinion nobody can verify.

We publish no prices at all. Prices change, depend on the individual case and cannot be checked against a public source — and a stale number is worse than no number, because the reader plans around it and then hears something different.

When sources disagree about a fact, we do not quietly pick the more plausible version. The listing says the sources disagree and asks you to call before you go; what each source says is under “Where this comes from”.

Advertising

Advertising is labelled and never affects the order of the listings. Paid placement does not change the data in a listing and does not make unpaid listings any worse.

Who is behind VietGid

VietGid is made by TERRA BY HUSTLE, a company founded in 2022. We have lived in Nha Trang since 2019, and before that we came here as tourists ourselves — asking the same questions and spending just as long working out where to go. That is why we build this directory: so that tourists and expats can find what they need more easily and know the information has been checked.

TERRA BY HUSTLE is also listed in the directory, under vehicle rental. Its listing and its ads are marked as the VietGid owner’s company, go through the same checks and are not placed above anyone else.

You can ask us to correct the information or to remove the listing entirely. We reply within three working days. Disputed data is hidden while we look into it, rather than left standing.
