Pharmacies and hospitals in Da Lat: where to buy medicine, where to go at night, and the ambulance number
Two FPT Long Chau pharmacies in Da Lat (open until 9 pm), a provincial hospital with a 24-hour emergency room, ambulance 115 and what needs a prescription.
A pharmacy in Vietnamese is “nhà thuốc”. Our Da Lat section lists two FPT Long Châu pharmacies: 2 Phạm Ngọc Thạch and 4 Chi Lăng. Google Maps shows both open until 9 pm, and we found no 24-hour pharmacy. At night, or if the situation is serious, do not hunt for a pharmacy: call the ambulance on 115 or go to the emergency room of the provincial hospital at 1 Phạm Ngọc Thạch, which Medpro lists as open round the clock. Da Lat is a city in Lâm Đồng province (since 1 July 2025 the province also includes Đắk Nông and Bình Thuận, Resolution 202/2025/QH15). The number 1800 6928 on the cards is the chain's general toll-free line, not the pharmacy's own phone. Whether a given medicine is in stock is not something we know: ask in the shop or on the chain's website. Other pharmacies exist in Da Lat, but they are not in our catalogue yet because we have not checked them.
Is there a 24-hour pharmacy in Da Lat?
We cannot confirm one. The two pharmacies in our section close at 9 pm on Google Maps, and we did not check other chains' 24-hour lists for Da Lat. If you need medicine after 9 pm, call 115 or go to the provincial hospital's emergency room, where care is given on the spot.
What can you buy without a prescription and what needs one?
Prescription medicines, antibiotics included, are not sold without a doctor's prescription: Decree 90/2026/NĐ-CP, in force from 15 May 2026, tightened penalties for pharmacies that do it (Nhân Dân). If you are refused, it is the law, not fussiness. Prescription packs carry “Rx” or “Thuốc kê đơn” (Ministry of Health Circular 01/2018/TT-BYT). Show the pharmacist the active ingredient in Latin letters or a photo of the pack: brands differ in Vietnam, the substance does not. What to take is for a doctor to decide, not a pharmacy or this text.
Where do you go in Da Lat with an injury, high fever or poisoning?
Call the ambulance on 115, the emergency number in Vietnam; per LuatVietnam (16 Sep 2025), replacing 115 with a single number is only a proposal. To go yourself, choose the provincial hospital or, for a general medical problem, the traditional medicine hospital:
- Lâm Đồng General Hospital, 1 Phạm Ngọc Thạch. The emergency room is open round the clock; outpatient hours are weekdays 7:00–11:30 and 13:30–16:30 (Medpro, 28 Oct 2025). - Phạm Ngọc Thạch Traditional Medicine Hospital, 49 Quang Trung. Besides acupuncture it has general medicine, ENT, dentistry and skin departments; open daily 7:00–11:30 and 13:00–16:30 (Medpro). Whether the provincial hospital treats foreigners or has English-speaking staff is not stated in the sources. Take your passport and a translation app, or go with a Vietnamese speaker.
What about travel insurance?
Keep receipts, discharge papers and prescriptions: without them an insurer may refuse to repay you. We do not know whether a given hospital accepts your insurance with direct billing; ask your insurer before the trip. Your own terms are in your policy.
