What is mi Quang and where can I try it?

Mi Quang is the signature noodle dish of Da Nang and neighbouring Quang Nam: golden noodles, just enough broth to moisten them, fresh herbs and a crispy rice cracker (Da Nang tourism portal, 18 June 2026). It is an everyday breakfast and lunch, not a special-occasion dish. In 2024 the "folk knowledge of mi Quang" was added to Vietnam's national intangible heritage list (Tuoi Tre, 12 August 2024). Try it at Mi Quang Ba Mua, 19–21 Tran Binh Trong, in central Hai Chau.

What is bun cha ca?

Bun cha ca is a rice-noodle soup with fish cakes and one of Da Nang's signature dishes. The broth is simmered from fish and vegetables — pumpkin, cabbage, pineapple and tomato — so it is sweet with a little tang; the fish cakes are steamed or fried, and the soup comes with herbs and pickled garlic and chilli (VnExpress; Da Nang tourism portal, 18 June 2026). Try it at Bun cha ca 109, 109 Nguyen Chi Thanh. It is a breakfast dish, so go in the morning.

Where can I eat banh xeo in Da Nang?

Banh xeo are crispy filled rice pancakes that you wrap in rice paper with herbs and dip in sauce. Banh xeo Ba Duong is tucked down alley K280/23 Hoang Dieu in Hai Chau, and it is on the 2026 Michelin Selected list (Da Nang tourism portal, 5 June 2026). Taxi drivers know the alley — just say "Ba Duong".

Which Da Nang places are in the Michelin Guide?

The 2026 Michelin Guide lists 23 Bib Gourmand and 23 Michelin Selected places in Da Nang, plus one star and one green star (Da Nang tourism portal, 5 June 2026). From our directory, the Selected list includes Banh xeo Ba Duong, the Vietnamese restaurant Madame Lan on the Bach Dang riverfront, the seafood restaurant Moc at 26 To Hien Thanh and Nam Danh in Son Tra. Bib Gourmand means good food at a moderate price; Selected simply means recommended. It is not a ranking: plenty of excellent local eateries are not in the guide.

Where to eat seafood in Da Nang?

Seafood in Da Nang is an evening meal in the beachfront restaurants on Vo Nguyen Giap street and nearby in Son Tra: Be Man, My Hanh, Be Bien, Thoi Co. A little further from the beach are Moc, Nam Danh down an alley off Tran Quang Khai, and Phuoc Thai on Ho Nghinh. All restaurants are in seafood and Vietnamese food in Da Nang.

How do I order seafood without overpaying?

In the beachfront restaurants you choose live seafood yourself, it is weighed and charged by weight, so ask the price per kilo before you order and have it weighed in front of you. Prices must be displayed, and missing prices are fined: in July 2025 a street vendor who overcharged tourists from Laos for skewers was fined for not displaying prices (Tuoi Tre, 22 July 2025). The rule is simple: check the menu and the price before you order.

What else should I try in Da Nang?

Banh canh ruong is a thick-noodle soup named after the stalls that once stood beside rice fields on the edge of town; it is now a local speciality (Da Nang tourism portal, 18 June 2026). Bun mam nem comes with a sauce of fermented anchovy, garlic, chilli and pineapple — for those who like bold flavours. Cao lau, thick chewy noodles with pork and crispy pork skin, comes from Hoi An.
