The former presidential palace of South Vietnam, built in the 1960s and now a museum. According to the official website it is open daily from 7:00 to 18:00; the ticket office at the Nam Ky Khoi Nghia gate sells tickets from 7:00 to 18:00, and at the Nguyen Du gate from 8:00 to 16:00. Third-party guides still give the old hours (8:00–16:30); go by the palace's website.

A museum of the Vietnam War at 28 Vo Van Tan in District 3, a 10-minute walk from the Independence Palace. Open every day, roughly 7:30–17:30; the ticket office closes at about 17:00. A pedestrian street from the City People's Committee building (the city hall) to the Saigon River, closed to traffic since 2015. On weekend evenings there are street performances. The city hall building is not open to visitors and can only be seen from outside.
