How to choose
- Apps are the easiest: Grab, Be and the electric Xanh SM taxis work across the city and at the airport, and you see the fare before the ride.
- You can also book Xanh SM by phone on 1900 2088 and Be on 1900 23 23 45. Grab has no hotline, only in-app chat.
- For a regular taxi: Vinasun (white cars, (028) 38 27 27 27) or Mai Linh (green cars, 1055). Only get into cars with the company logo and number.
- If someone calls "from Grab support" and asks for a code from a text message, it is a scam: do not share it.
A Vietnamese app for ordering taxis and motorbike rides, launched in December 2018 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Hotline 1900 23 23 45, round the clock according to reviews. The Ho Chi Minh City office is at 29 Le Duan in the centre, but you do not need it for a ride: the app is enough.

Mai Linh is one of Vietnam's oldest taxi companies; in Ho Chi Minh City its cars are green. The official website gives the nationwide taxi booking number 1055. The group's head office is at 64 Hai Ba Trung in the city centre, office phone 028 38 29 8888. Directories also list 028 3838 3838 for Ho Chi Minh City, so if in doubt, call 1055.
