How to get a taxi in Mui Ne: which companies and apps work and how not to overpay

The simplest way to get a taxi in Mui Ne is to phone one of the local companies: Sun Taxi, Duy Sang, Hải Hồ, Mai Linh, Quốc Tế or Vinasun. Numbers are in the table below; all are based in Phan Thiet and also run to Mui Ne. Get into a car with a meter, or agree the fare before you set off. Check the Grab and Green SM (Xanh SM) apps on arrival to see whether cars show up nearby; we could not confirm that.

Does Grab work in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet?
Grab announced the launch of GrabTaxi in Phan Thiet and Mui Ne on 17 May 2021, on its driver page. We could not confirm that it works today or how many cars are free: there is no recent official data. Open Grab on arrival and see whether cars appear nearby. If none do, or the search drags on, call a taxi company from the table.
Is there Green SM (Xanh SM) in Mui Ne?
Green SM (Xanh SM) has no branch of its own in Binh Thuan, according to the company's official page of 18 January 2025. The same page says Lado Taxi cars can be booked in the Green SM app. We did not check whether this works in Mui Ne today, so don't count on Green SM electric taxis here. The Green SM hotline is 1555; the old number 1900 2088 was switched off on 1 June 2026. The Sun Taxi listing names both Grab and Green SM as ways to book.
How do I take a taxi from Phan Thiet station to Mui Ne?
It is about 26 km from Phan Thiet station to Mui Ne. The easiest way is to phone a taxi company in advance, give the station and your hotel address, and ask for the fare before the car leaves. If you arrive by morning train and don't want to haggle on the spot, book Grab or call Mai Linh, Vinasun or Sun Taxi: they also run to Mui Ne. How do I avoid overpaying for a taxi in Mui Ne?
We don't publish fares. Three simple habits protect you.
- Ask the driver to switch on the meter. If they refuse, get out and call another car.
- For a ride between Mui Ne and Phan Thiet, give the pickup point and hotel address and ask for the fare before the car leaves. Repeat the agreed amount aloud before you get in.
- Book through an app if cars show up in it: the fare and route are visible before the ride.
Don't go with someone who approaches you at the hotel or station offering a "taxi". The company name and number on the car should match the one you called.
How do I get a taxi in Mui Ne at night?
The guides don't list the companies' working hours, so phone ahead at night and ask whether a car will come. For a morning flight or train, book the car the evening before by phone. Hotel reception can also order one.
Do I need data or a Vietnamese SIM to book a taxi?
