Taxis in Vietnam: which apps and companies work in Nha Trang, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc and Mui Ne

Short answer: in Vietnam the easiest way to get a taxi is an app: Grab, Green SM (formerly Xanh SM) and Be; for Nha Trang the directory also has Maxim. You can also phone taxi companies with a dispatcher, such as Mai Linh, Vinasun and local fleets. In the VietGid directory on 27 October 2026 there are 8 taxi listings in Nha Trang, 6 in Da Nang, 5 in Ho Chi Minh City, 7 on Phu Quoc and 6 in Mui Ne. Hoi An and Da Lat have no taxi listings yet. Which taxi apps and companies work in Nha Trang, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc and Mui Ne?
We went through the "Taxis and apps" section for five cities and every listing. This is a sample of the directory on 27 October 2026, not a list of every taxi in town.

An empty language cell only means the listing says nothing about it. Check inside the app before your first ride.
What about taxis in Nha Trang?
Nha Trang has the most apps in the directory: Grab, Green SM, Be and Maxim. The Maxim listing says the app comes in Russian, English and Vietnamese, and we use it around town ourselves. Taxi companies are Mai Linh (0258 38 38 38 38 and the national 1055), Sun Taxi (0258 389 89 89, Android app only), Vinasun and Asia. Vinasun and Asia are printed with different phone numbers in different guides, so call and check. More in Taxis in Nha Trang.
What about taxis in Da Nang?
Da Nang has three apps, Grab, Green SM and Be, and three companies with a dispatcher: Mai Linh (0236 3565 656), Vinasun (0236 3686 868) and the local yellow cars of Tiên Sa (0236 3797 979). At the airport, pick your terminal when you book in the app: T1 for domestic flights, T2 for international. See Taxis in Da Nang.
What about taxis in Ho Chi Minh City?
Ho Chi Minh City has three apps in the directory, Grab, Green SM and Be (hotline 1900 23 23 45), and two taxi companies: Mai Linh (national number 1055) and Vinasun ((028) 38 27 27 27). According to the Grab listing, there has been no customer hotline since August 2020: you reach support through the help section and in-app chat. Be careful with calls from "Grab support" asking for an SMS code. See Grab taxis and the metro in Ho Chi Minh City.
What about taxis on Phu Quoc?
On Phu Quoc the only app in the directory is Green SM; the other six listings are phone-dispatch fleets: Mai Linh, Vinasun, Đăng Quang, Nam Thắng (it has its own app, according to one source), Sài Gòn and Sasco. Sasco has two numbers in the sources, so try the second if the first does not answer. We have no Grab or Be listings for Phu Quoc yet; that does not mean they do not work, only that we have not added them. See Taxis on Phu Quoc.
What about taxis in Mui Ne?
All six Mui Ne listings are Phan Thiet taxi fleets that also serve Mui Ne: Mai Linh, Vinasun, Sun Taxi, Duy Sang, Hải Hồ and Quốc Tế. Mai Linh, Sun Taxi and Vinasun show more than one number in the sources, so if one does not answer, try the other. See Taxis in Mui Ne.
And in Hoi An and Da Lat?
There are no taxi listings for Hoi An or Da Lat in the directory yet.
Is the Green SM number 1555 or 1900 2088?
It is 1555 now. Green SM announced on 14 April 2026 that its nationwide hotline is 1555 and that the old 1900 2088 number would be switched off from 1 June 2026. Our Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc listings still show 1900 2088; call 1555 instead or use the in-app chat.
FAQ
Which taxi app should I install in Vietnam? Grab, Green SM and Be are in the listings for Nha Trang, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. For Phu Quoc the directory has Green SM, and for Nha Trang also Maxim.
Does Grab work in Vietnam? Yes. Grab has an official Vietnam site (grab.com/vn), and we have Grab listings for Nha Trang, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. We have none for Phu Quoc or Mui Ne yet; that does not mean Grab is unavailable there, so check in the app.
Is there a taxi app in English or Russian? In the directory only Maxim in Nha Trang is listed with a Russian interface. For the others the listings say nothing about language.
Can I get a taxi without an app? Yes. All five cities have taxi fleets you can phone, and in Nha Trang Mai Linh also takes calls on the national number 1055.
How much does a taxi cost? We do not publish prices: check in the app or ask before the ride.
