Kim Bong Carpentry Village

Hoi An, ~30 km (about 45 min) from central Da Nang. The Kim Bồng carpenters' village across the Thu Bồn River from the old town: builders, furniture makers, boatbuilders and carvers who, per the Hoi An heritage conservation centre, help restore the old houses. You can see a display house, artisans at work and the boatyard, and have a go yourself; entry is by ticket. The craft has been national intangible heritage since 2016.
