For a view of the bay, go up: Altitude on the 28th floor of the Sheraton (15:00 to midnight) and Skylight on the roof of Premier Havana (from 17:00, closed Mondays). For a bar on the sand, Sailing Club on the beachfront is a café by day and a party by night, with DJs and a fire show, open until 2:00. To dance after midnight, Why Not Bar on Nguyễn Thiện Thuật stays open until 3:00. For a quiet cocktail, try the small bars in the tourist quarter: Hybrid, Wolpertinger and Tê Bê.

Where can I see the bay from above?
Altitude opens earliest, at 15:00, so you can arrive for sunset without fighting for a table. It's calm up there — lounge music and conversation. Skylight is an open-air deck on top of Premier Havana with a view of the whole bay; it gets louder in the evening with DJs. Skylight is closed on Mondays and its hours differ between listings, so check skylightnhatrang.com before you go.
Where can I drink by the sea?
Sailing Club and Louisiane are right on the beach. Louisiane brews its own beer, has a pool and live music on weekend evenings; smoking is allowed everywhere, so non-smokers should sit closer to the water. Sailing Club is an ordinary café by day, with a fire show after 22:00 and dancing after midnight. In the evening there's an entry fee that includes one drink.
Where can I get a cocktail without the crowds?
In the small bars of the tourist quarter. Hybrid is tucked down an alley off Tuệ Tĩnh: dim light, signature cocktails, no smoking inside. Wolpertinger on Tô Hiến Thành is candlelit and small — come at opening, 18:00. Tê Bê is in the kiosks by the Mường Thanh hotel near Trần Phú bridge. MiJack has a guitarist on music nights — not every day, so ask first.
Where can I dance?
Why Not Bar on Nguyễn Thiện Thuật has a stage, a dance floor, electronic music and hip-hop, and stays open until 3:00; it's nearly empty before 22:00. Kisho Club on Biệt Thự is a club with lights and sound and singers at weekends and holidays; it closes at 1:30. People also dance at Sailing Club after midnight.

Book a car or bike through an app — Grab, Xanh SM or Be: no need to explain the address, and you see the price upfront. Don't ride a scooter after drinking.
