Seafood in Nha Trang: where to eat — Bờ Kè, the harbour and downtown, plus bún cá and nem nướng for breakfast

Where to eat seafood in Nha Trang: the row of restaurants on Cù Huân by the Bờ Kè riverside, live-tank places near Hòn Rớ harbour, spots downtown, plus fish noodle soup, nem nướng and charcoal beef. Addresses, hours and how to order by weight.

Most seafood restaurants sit on Cù Huân street by the Bờ Kè riverside in the north of the city: Hằng 66, Bờ Kè Quán and Hạnh Xuân are side by side and stay open until 23:00 or later. If you want to pick your seafood live from a tank, head south to Hòn Rớ harbour: Bến Cảng and Hiền Khương are about 15 minutes by taxi from the centre. Staying downtown and don't want to travel? Try Ngoc Trai (open since 2004), Sóng Biển, or Thanh Sương on the beachfront.

Where can I pick seafood live?

Near Hòn Rớ harbour in the south: at Bến Cảng and Hiền Khương the seafood is kept in tanks — you point at what you want and choose how it's cooked: grilled, steamed, with garlic or in a sauce. Downtown, Thanh Sương on the beachfront works the same way, with tanks right at the entrance. Going to the harbour anyway? Combine it with an island trip — Bến Cảng faces Hoa Sen island.

How do I order without a surprise on the bill?

Live seafood is usually sold by weight. Before the fish or crab goes to the kitchen, ask the price per kilo and ask them to weigh it in front of you — use your phone if you can't understand each other. A menu without prices, or "market price", means ask first. Check the bill before paying: an extra item is more often a mistake than a scam, and staff will remove it.

Where for dinner, where for lunch?

The Cù Huân row and Ốc Xuân Anh stay open until 23:00–midnight, so they're good for dinner. Ngoc Trai and Sóng Biển open in the morning, but call before a late visit — their closing times differ between listings. Google Maps shows Hạnh Xuân as open 24 hours; call first at night anyway.

What else should I eat?

Bún cá — rice noodle soup with fish cakes and jellyfish — is Nha Trang's classic breakfast. Try Nguyên Loan (123 Ngô Gia Tự, from 5:00 until late), Cô Ba (105 Hoàng Hoa Thám, 6:00–19:30) or Hạnh Nhiên (32C Lê Đại Hành, 5:30–13:00 and 16:30–20:30). Nem nướng — grilled pork sausages you roll yourself in rice paper with herbs — at Đặng Văn Quyên (2–4 Phan Bội Châu and 16A Lãn Ông) and Vũ Thành An (15 Lê Lợi). For beef grilled on charcoal at your table, go to Lạc Cảnh (77 Nguyễn Bỉnh Khiêm, 9:30–21:00) — bring cash.

Sources and checks

Addresses, hours and phone numbers come from the listings in the "Seafood and Vietnamese food" section, checked on 14 October 2026 against Google Maps and independent guides (Toplist, Mia.vn, VinWonders, Mytour, Vietnamspot). Where sources give different hours, street numbers or phones (Hạnh Xuân, Ngoc Trai, Sóng Biển, Nhà Tôi, Lạc Cảnh, the nem nướng places), the listing says so — check the map or call before you go. The tips on ordering by weight are our own. Updated 14.10.2026.
