Diving in Nha Trang: when to go, which centre to choose and when you can fly
The season runs from February to August, with monsoon in autumn. Seven dive centres with training systems and languages, a try dive without a certificate and 12–18 hours before flying.
You can dive in Nha Trang all year, but the season runs from February to August, with the clearest water usually in April to June. October to December is monsoon season: waves, murky water and cancelled trips. Most dives go to Hòn Mun island, a marine reserve with coral, caves and steep underwater walls. A try dive needs no certificate, and you shouldn't fly until 12–18 hours after diving.

PADI and SSI are the two international dive training systems. Every centre is in diving and snorkelling.
When should I go?
February to August, with the clearest water usually in April to June. October to December is monsoon: waves, murky water, cancelled trips. A cancellation then is the weather, not a bad centre. If diving is the point of your trip, don't plan it for those months.
Can I dive if I've never tried?
Yes: a try dive with an instructor needs no certificate. What it does need is an honest medical form. Asthma, heart problems, recent surgery and pregnancy can all rule diving out. Lying on the form doesn't fool the centre — it only puts you at risk.
A beginner course usually takes three to four days: theory, confined water, open water. Nobody issues a certificate in one day — a centre that promises it is a bad sign.
What should I ask before paying?
- How many people per instructor. On a try dive, one or two at most.
- Who leads the group and what language they speak.
- When the regulators were last serviced and the tanks checked.
- What the trip includes: how many dives, whether lunch is included, how long the boat ride is.
- What happens if the weather cancels it: refund, rebooking or nothing.
How long after diving can I fly?
At least 12 hours after a single dive and 18 hours after several dives or several days in a row. Fly too soon and the nitrogen dissolved in your blood can cause decompression sickness on the plane. Keep your last day before the flight dry.

Sources and checks
The centres in the table come from the diving and snorkelling section: addresses, training systems and languages come from the centres' websites and maps, with sources and dates on each listing. Delight Diving gives its Nha Trang season as May to October — centres' seasons can differ, so ask when you book. Delight Diving's office appears at two addresses. The 12- and 18-hour pre-flight intervals are the standard recommendation of diving organisations. This is reference information, not medical advice. Updated 5 October 2026.
