Long Sơn Pagoda and the White Buddha
Long Sơn pagoda sits at the foot of Trại Thủy hill — this is where you climb to the White Buddha: a 14-metre statue at the top, reached by 193 steps to the left of the pagoda. The pagoda was founded on the hill in 1886 and moved down to its current site in 1900. Cover your shoulders and knees: in shorts or a vest you will be given a robe before entering the hall. Street vendors approach tourists at the gate — just say no politely. The pagoda is open all day.
