Mud baths in Nha Trang: where to go, how to get there, what to bring

Mud baths in Nha Trang — Galina in the centre, Thap Ba, I-Resort, 100 Egg and Hon Tam island: where each one is, opening hours, how to get there and what to bring.

In Nha Trang you can take a mud bath right in the centre, at the Galina hotel on Hung Vuong street. The other places are further out: Thap Ba by the Po Nagar towers, I-Resort and the 100 Egg park out of town, and Hon Tam on an island you reach by boat. All of them open from about 8 am, and Galina stays open into the evening; call before you go, as hours do change.

Where is Thap Ba and how do you get there?

It's at 438 Ngo Den, Ngoc Hiep ward, north-west of the centre near the Po Nagar Cham towers. The ride is on city streets with no highway stretch, so it pairs easily with a visit to the towers. Open every day 7:30 am–5 pm. Hotline: 084 857 85 85.

What makes I-Resort different?

It's a resort outside town, west of the centre (To 19, Xuan Ngoc village, Tay Nha Trang ward). On top of the mud baths you get mineral pools, restaurants and a hotel — plan half a day or more. It's open daily 8 am–5:30 pm, but the ticket desk stops selling at 4:30 pm, so don't cut it close. Phone: 02583 830 141 or 02583 837 837.

What is 100 Egg?

Tram Trung park sits on Nguyen Tat Thanh boulevard (Phuoc Dong ward), about 10 km south of the centre. It covers more than 20 hectares, and the tubs are shaped like giant eggs — hence the name. It opens at 8–8:30 am and stays open until 7 pm, so it works for an afternoon trip too. Phone: +84 963 046 363 or 02583 711 733. The park lists English, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese and Russian among staff languages.

Google Maps still has an old "100 Eggs Mud Bath" listing marked permanently closed. That's a duplicate — the park is open; look for the active listing.

How do you get to Hon Tam island?

Boats to Hon Tam leave from the pier near the Vinpearl cable car station. Most people go with a tour agency, which handles the boat and gives you its own contact number. The mud bath has no website of its own — sites with the island's name in the address belong to tour operators. You'll see the name spelled Hon Tam, Hòn Tằm or MerPerle Hon Tam.

It's the only one of these places where weather can stop you: boat trips get cancelled in the monsoon season. If you're here in autumn or early winter, keep a land-based option in reserve.

How do you get to the out-of-town baths?

I-Resort and 100 Egg need a taxi, a motorbike or a transfer — they're not walkable. Transport options are in taxis and transfers and vehicle rental. All the places with addresses and phone numbers are in the mud baths section.

What should you bring?

  • A towel, a change of clothes and a spare swimsuit. Ask by phone what they provide on site.
  • Check today's ticket price and what it includes before you go.
  • If you're pregnant or have blood pressure, heart or skin problems, ask a doctor first.
