How to get from Cam Ranh Airport to Nha Trang: taxi, Grab, bus or transfer
35 km, 40–50 minutes by car. Grab or Xanh SM from arrivals, bus No. 18 timed to flights, or a transfer — where to meet your car and what to confirm when booking.
Cam Ranh airport is 35 km south of Nha Trang: 40–50 minutes by car, up to an hour and a half by bus. The easiest option is Grab or Xanh SM, booked from the arrivals hall — you see the fare before you confirm. The cheapest is bus No. 18, which runs to match arrivals. Landing at night, with children or with lots of luggage? Book a transfer in advance.
Which option should I choose?
| Option | How to book | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Grab | app: 4- or 7-seat car, motorbike | most people: fare shown upfront, can be booked ahead |
| Xanh SM | app or 1900 2088 | VinFast electric taxis, fare in the app |
| Taxi rank | official rank outside the terminal; Mai Linh — 0258 38 38 38 38 | no mobile data yet — check the meter is on |
| Bus No. 18 | outside the terminal; airport line 0966 282 385 | cheap, with stops; big luggage may not fit |
| Private transfer | in advance, by messenger | night flights, children, lots of bags |
Where do I meet my Grab at the airport?
According to Grab, pickup is outside the international terminal exit, and at gates A and B of the domestic terminal. You can book before you fly: choose GrabCar (4 seats) or GrabCar 7 in the app. Grab has no passenger office — everything goes through the app.
How do I take bus No. 18?
The Đất Mới bus runs from both terminals, timed to arrivals, with a full-size bus and a minivan. In Nha Trang the ticket office and stop are at 10 Yersin, by the stadium. It's the cheapest way, but it makes stops and there's no guaranteed room for a big suitcase.
Who does private transfers?
A driver meets you with a name sign, and the price is agreed in advance. A few operators from the directory:
- Nhatrang Private Car — drivers with basic English, WhatsApp, Viber and WeChat.
- Minh Khoa Travel — bookings 24 hours, cars for 4 to 45 people.
- Bảo An Travel — cars for 4, 7, 16, 29 and 45 people.
- Vietnam Transfer — Russian-speaking, bookings by messenger, seven days a week.
All operators are in taxis and transfers. Listings carry no prices: they change and depend on the time of day.
What should I confirm when booking a transfer?
Agree everything in writing, in messages:
- the flight number, not just the time — if you're delayed, the driver knows who to wait for;
- how long they'll wait after landing at no extra cost;
- the car type and how many suitcases fit;
- where to meet: at the arrivals exit or in the car park;
- a child seat if you need one — you won't find one on the spot.
I land at night — what should I do?
Many flights into Cam Ranh land at night. That's when a pre-booked transfer pays off: haggling with a driver in the car park at 3 a.m. is nobody's idea of fun. You can still call a Grab, but if you don't have mobile data yet, a transfer is more reliable.
Don't go with drivers who approach you in the arrivals hall: take a car from the official rank and make sure the meter is on.
