How to send a parcel from Nha Trang abroad, including Russia: Vietnam Post EMS, documents and limits (26 October 2026)

How sending a parcel from Nha Trang works at Vietnam Post (EMS): documents, what you cannot send, Russia and DHL notes. Data as of 26 October 2026.

Short answer: in Nha Trang you send an international parcel through Vietnam Post (its EMS service) at a post office; the post offices and delivery services we list are in the Post and delivery in Nha Trang section. Whether a given counter accepts a particular country, Russia included, is not stated on Vietnam Post's public pages, so ask at the EMS counter or call the hotline 1900 54 54 81 before you carry the box over. How do I send a parcel abroad from Nha Trang?

Take the unpacked items to a Vietnam Post office and ask for international EMS. Vietnam Post says the service covers more than 100 countries and territories (Vietnam Post international EMS page). Maximum weight and size depend on the country and are set in EMS's own notices, so ask the clerk for your destination. Say the country and city out loud first: if that route is closed, you will hear it before you pack.

What documents do I need?

EMS asks for all documents required by Vietnamese law, the airline and the destination country (Vietnam Post). In practice that is a customs declaration, listing every item and its value. Write in Latin letters, one line per item ("cotton T-shirt, 2 pcs"), not "gifts". Add the recipient's full name, address, postcode and phone. Take a photo of the receipt and tracking number; tracking is on ipostal.vnpost.vn.

What can I not send?

Vietnam Post does not accept goods banned by Vietnam, by the destination country or by the service itself; its page names counterfeits and human remains, and also refuses lithium batteries, dangerous goods and strong-smelling items (Vietnam Post). Keep power banks and anything with a lithium battery out of the box. Do not put cash in a parcel: send money through a bank. For antiques or old objects, ask at the post office or customs before you pack.

Does Vietnam Post send to Russia, and what about DHL?

Vietnam Post's public pages do not give a country list or a note about Russia, so ask at the counter. DHL Express's page on shipping from Vietnam says: "Services to Russia and Belarus are currently suspended" (DHL Express, checked 26 October 2026). The page gives no dates and is on DHL's English-language site, so confirm with DHL's Vietnam office. For FedEx and UPS, ask their Vietnam offices directly.

How long does it take?

Vietnam Post publishes a "standard time" for EMS, counted from acceptance to the first delivery attempt, but your destination's figure should be given at the counter when you send. Do not plan around a date that is not in writing.

What about customs on arrival in Russia?

For private individuals Russia's customs service allows duty-free parcels up to 200 euro and 31 kg; above that, duty is 15% of the excess value, at least 2 euro per kg of excess, paid by the recipient (Russian customs reminder, tks.ru, 3 July 2026). The sender is responsible for the declared value, the recipient needs a Russian tax number (INN), and a foreign recipient needs a passport.
