Where can I have bún cá for breakfast?
Bún cá is Nha Trang’s signature breakfast: rice noodle soup with fish cakes (chả cá) and jellyfish. Nguyên Loan at 123 Ngô Gia Tự opens at 5 am and stays open until late evening. Cô Ba at 105 Hoàng Hoa Thám is in the tourist quarter, 6:00–19:30. Hạnh Nhiên at 32C Lê Đại Hành, near Xóm Mới market, works two shifts: 5:30–13:00 and 16:30–20:30. Go early — places like these can run out of soup by midday.
Where can I try nem nướng and charcoal-grilled beef?
Nem nướng are grilled pork sausages you wrap yourself in rice paper with herbs and dip in sauce. Two well-known spots in town are Đặng Văn Quyên at 2–4 Phan Bội Châu, by Dam Market, and Vũ Thành An at 15 Lê Lợi (7:30–20:30 on Google Maps, sometimes with a midday break). Call before going in the evening. Lạc Cảnh at 77 Nguyễn Bỉnh Khiêm is the city’s oldest grill: marinated beef is cooked right on your table, cash only. Where can I eat seafood?
On Bờ Kè street, by the port and in the centre — with addresses and how not to overpay for crab sold by weight — in seafood in Nha Trang. Grilled and sauced shellfish and snails are at Ốc Xuân Anh, 25 Tháp Bà, near the Po Nagar towers, 11:30 to midnight.
Where can I get Western food?
Pizza at Pizza 4P’s in the Sheraton on the seafront (book via the 1900 6043 hotline) and at AB Central Square. Italian at La Cala on Bạch Đằng; steak at Dinner at Cim’s in the lane at 86B Trần Phú, dinner only from 17:00. German at Haus Bremen on Hùng Vương, open until 2:00 according to Google Maps. In the north, on Phạm Văn Đồng, SeaShell and Anrizon Steakhouse open at 6:30. All are in the European food section.
Where can I get coffee early?
Nha Trang coffee shops open early, before the heat. Iced Coffee in the Havana hotel, 38 Trần Phú — across the road from the beach, from 6:30. Jungle Coffee at 8 Lê Quý Đôn, near the cathedral — from 6:00, busiest 8–10 am. With a bay view: Cà phê Hòn Chồng View at 6 Phạm Văn Đồng, by the Hon Chong rocks, from 6:00.
