Food delivery in Nha Trang: which app to install and how to order without Vietnamese
In Nha Trang, food, groceries and even pharmacy orders come through ShopeeFood and GrabFood. Which app to install, how to set your address so the rider finds you, and what to do when the rider calls in Vietnamese.
Food delivery in Nha Trang runs on two apps: ShopeeFood and GrabFood. If you already have Grab for taxis, start there — you already have an account, and you can message the rider in a chat with auto-translation. Add ShopeeFood as your second app: it has the most restaurants, plus groceries, supermarkets and pharmacies.
Which app should I install?
| App | What it delivers | Why it's handy |
|---|---|---|
| ShopeeFood | food, groceries, drinks, supermarket and pharmacy orders | covers all of Khánh Hòa with a separate "Tp. Nha Trang" area; the most orders in Vietnam |
| GrabFood (in the Grab app) | food from cafés and restaurants | same app as for taxis; sign up with a foreign number, chat with auto-translation |
In a NielsenIQ survey in spring 2025, ShopeeFood took more than half of Vietnam's food delivery orders and GrabFood about a third. So if a place isn't on one app, look on the other.
How do I set my address so the rider finds me?
Drop a pin on the map rather than only typing the address: Nha Trang is full of alleys numbered like 15/12, and riders go by the pin. In the order note, add the building or hotel name, block, floor and room number in Latin letters. In a big complex, agree on a meeting point — riders often can't go past the lobby or the gate.
The rider is calling in Vietnamese — now what?
In Grab, reply in the in-app chat: messages are translated automatically. You can answer the call with a short phrase and switch to the chat or share the pin. Keep your address in Vietnamese in your notes, plus a couple of phrases: "Tôi đang ở sảnh" — "I'm in the lobby", "Tôi xuống ngay" — "coming down now".
Cash or card?
Grab takes both cards and cash. Cash is handy until you've added a card — keep small notes, as riders often have no change for big ones. The delivery fee depends on distance and is shown in the app before you order.
Can I order groceries or medicine?
Yes. ShopeeFood has "Siêu thị" (supermarkets), "Thực phẩm" (groceries) and "Thuốc" (pharmacies) sections. What's sold without a prescription and what your medicine is called in Vietnamese is in our pharmacies in Nha Trang guide. Prefer to go yourself? Supermarkets and markets are in markets and malls.
What if I need to send a package or keys?
Grab has GrabExpress for that: a rider picks up the item and takes it across town. It works in Khánh Hòa and you book it in the same app.
